Soldiers Memorial Hall, Manly

ASSESSING UPGRADES TO A MEMORIAL HALL

Client: Northern Beaches Council

The Project

Extent Heritage was commissioned to prepare heritage advice and a statement of heritage impact in relation to proposed upgrades to the Soldiers Memorial Hall in Manly, New South Wales. The aim of the project was to expand the existing Council office within the building through interior and exterior changes to the locally listed heritage place.

Our Role

Extent Heritage provided face-to-face and written heritage advice to Council in relation to their proposed design, to ensure that the new work would not have an adverse impact on the significance of the place. We then prepared an assessment report for the purposes of a development application.

Value Unlocked

Extent Heritage was able to lead the client towards a design that both respects the heritage significance of the place and allows the existing Council office to expand within the space.
