Principles guiding heritage management in the face of climate change

In an Australian first, the Victorian Heritage Council has released a set of principles to guide management of heritage in the face of climate change.

Extent Heritage is very proud to have led an international team, with Point Advisory and Carrig Conservation International, to develop these principles and a suite of tools to assist in the assessment of vulnerability and risk.

We look forward to bringing our expertise in climate change readiness and our familiarity with leading-edge global initiatives to bear in our work across Australia and beyond.

The United Nations defines “climate change” as a change of climate which is attributed directly or indirectly to human activity that alters the composition of the global atmosphere and which is in addition to natural climate variability observed over comparable time periods.
